Rebecca brings more than 20 years’ experience in heavy industry health and safety across mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, and finance. Most recently, as an independent consultant, she has advised company boards and senior executives on safety planning and improving how businesses learn from incidents and train their operational leaders. Rebecca has previously held senior leadership roles in Newmont, Shell and Rio Tinto, including Global Senior Health and Safety Manager (Major Projects), where she built a six-stage framework to improve contractor safety management worldwide. Rebecca began her health and safety career as a site based leader at BHP, before moving onto a Regional Health and Safety Manager role at critical minerals company, Iluka Resources. She is a member of the Advisory Board for the Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre at the University of Queensland.
